Sabotage Times: In-Depth Pre-Fame Interview
Really interesting, insightful interview with Russell from before he was famous (in 2002) at Sabotage Times.
I think the following quote is quite significant in light of his current career:
I want to be in showbusiness all my life, and I’m very ambitious, and I want to make films and do this thing all over the world, and I believe that as a movement we can change the world, and do something to end oppression and bring about some sort [of] equality, and I truly, faithfully believe that, and that’s ultimately what drives me.
He’s always known what he wanted to do, and he’s doing it. First get famous, then make Hollywood films and get enough power to do his own projects (i.e., the ‘Happiness’ documentary), and then … revolution!

He is devastatingly handsome, isn’t he? I hope he will be able to transcend the trappings of fame and riches to achieve his admirable goals. Lots of Hwood stars donate money to charitties, but don’t really dabble in the politics that are necessary to achieve the change that will guarantee a decent standard of living for all the people of the world. He wants to engineer the ounce of prevention that will ultimately be worth more than the pound of cure. Bravo and Godspeed Russell!
There are many different sides to the man. I liked the interview; good part prob covered in Booky Wook. Russell is uniquely talented and his ambition seems to be on course.
I hope some of the people who think he’s “sold out” read this and realize he’s had this agenda the whole time.
