This blog now has a dedicated Twitter account – @rusty_boots.
I know, you’re thinking, “Not another thing to join/follow!”
But this will be very low traffic; just announcements of when there is a new post on the blog. It is not a discussion group, community, or anything of that sort.
The whole purpose is so that I can notify those who are interested as soon as there’s a new post up, without having to clutter up the timelines of other followers on my personal account, who may not be interested in Russell Brand. Everyone wins.
Follow @rusty_boots now!

Remember when Russell used to tell us about upcoming projects and reply to fans on Twitter? Come on Russ, your loyal fans miss you.
Still, even if he doesn’t reply to anyone, it’s always nice to hear from Ol’ Russ. Some tweets from tonight:

Also, does Rusty have an NBA lookalike in Sasha Vujacic? Kobe thinks so!

Brand fans, you all remember it. The “Dog’s Bed” Cardi.
He was seldom seen without it from around Fall 2008 – Summer 2009.
The Cardi inspired great debate among fans — some loved it, some wanted to burn it. Few were indifferent.
Stories of the Cardi being forcibly ripped from Russell at a UK gig circulated in the Spring of 2009, but the would-be thieves did not prevail, as Russell himself assured me on Twitter:

The last public appearance of the Cardi was in Malibu in July 2009, when it was so shredded, it looked like this:

So, how about it, Rusty? Put the raggedy thing on eBay, if you still have it. Give the proceeds to Haiti! You know one of us loonies would buy it.

In the past few months there has been talk of the film title Get Him to the Greek being changed to Get Him to the Gig or even Get Me To the Gig.
I never thought either of those titles sounded right, so I’m happy to report that director Nicholas Stoller confirmed to me on Twitter today that the original name still stands:
nicholasstoller: @starleigh2000 the final title is indeed get him to the greek!
So, that’s settled, then. Bring on the trailer and screenings!

Alfie Hitchcock (@alfiehitchcock on Twitter) is the photographer responsible for the beautiful portraits of Russell that were taken for the Scandalous tour and accompanying promotional materials (including the main photo that adorns Russell’s website and Twitter account).
Tonight Alfie tweeted:
In LA right now with Russell, we thought this was a nice pic to share with you all…

Wonder what he is photographing Russell for in LA?

Russell was spotted in West Ham shorts and socks on the way to the gym in Los Angeles today.
He tweeted, “Raining in La- this is not the deal. London has snow. SNOW! This better be Hollywood rain that tastes of lemonade and gives superpowers.”
